Hadestown: Teen Edition Dance Camps and Audition Materials

Theatre folks!

Here is a link to sign up for the dance camps in the fall. The camps will run the week before school, Tuesday-Thursday, August 19-21. There will be three one-hour sessions from 1-4 pm, and students will be placed into one of the three sessions. We will be learning basic movement and learning some of the steps for Hadestown. These camps are free and optional, but highly encouraged for anyone looking to audition for our fall show.

In addition, the audition songs have been chosen for Hadestown. You will be singing a part from one of five characters, based on which one is best for your vocal part. The music can be found here, and hard copies are available from Mrs. Shuckerow. There is also an Orpheus guitar part shared if you’d like to practice – but note that we will be casting that part for the most fitting singer, the guitar playing is just a bonus.

In the fall, I will post the audition form for you to fill out. As I’ve said before, auditioning for a show means you will be available for all rehearsals besides any preapproved absences or sick days, and, if cast, you will accept any role the directors give you.

Here is a very rough calendar. Note that the dates are correct, but the activities on each rehearsal day are not filled in yet. This is for your planning purposes, especially auditions and tech week, which should not be missed in order to be in the show.
